Our Philosophy on Horses, Breeding and Business

Our philosophy is very simple: provide exceptional, ethical breeding so that we may turn our passion for horses into a living.
- We keep the well-being of our horses in mind above all else.
- We believe that horses are perfect creatures, and that they should inspire kindness and generosity in business.
- We aim to treat our clients to our unique warmth, honesty, integrity, and the quality of our horses.
- We want to disseminate all of the information we have acquired, and we want the knowledge of our community to strengthen the PRE breed we work with.
- We do not want to participate in competitive business practice, we believe that because we have entirely different horses with different personalities, strengths and weaknesses, there should be no need to compete with others offering different horses.
- We desire to build long-term, lasting friendships with other contributors to the horse world, including enthusiasts, riders, buyers, breeders, and the general public.

We imported our horses and started our business in June 2005. It has been the most remarkable experience, beyond anything we could have imagined when we began! Our goals, for ourselves, and for the horses, has shifted rather dramatically as we’ve gotten to know each of them, fallen in love with each of them and re-thought our priorities based on what they’ve taught us, not only about horses, but about ourselves.

The original goal was to produce lots of extremely well bred PRE’s and to compete in open dressage shows (and “kick butt”, of course). We’ve learned that the responsibility of breeding is too great (for us) to do on a large scale and so intend to breed only a couple of (hopefully, exceptional!) foals each year, allowing our mama’s to have time off from breeding periodically to just be horses. I've (Windy) spent the last year devoting myself to learning how to be a leader for the horses, especially the stallions (okay, especially Sonador!!), to work with their natural tendencies and abilities and to leave my agenda behind. What has unfolded has often left me in tears--happy, fulfilled ones. At this point, the journey itself is the only goal.
